Pastimes of Srila Guru Maharaj

Before taking sannyas, Guru Pramadvaitis name was Alanath Das. He was serving his spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, in many places, and for some time he was in Berlin. During his time in the temple in Berlin, Alanath Das soon had various responsibilities, and one of them was to be a temple president. He was in charge of coordinating the services of the devotees, and in one ocation when he carried on his service, Alanath Das had a pastime with his spiritual master. This is what he tells us about it:

"When I had the service of being the temple president of the temple, I was very strict. I sent the devotees to do service, and when they did not do it, i asked them why, and i always told them that if they didn't want to do service '- Then why don't you go back home to your mother? If you don't want to do something serious, something good, what are you doing here?' And I used it several times, so I was a too strict temple president.

One night I was dreaming that I was walking with Srila Prabhupada, and I felt very content. Suddenly Srila Prabhupada turned to me, lifted his stick and said to me: "And you, why don't you go back to your mother?" When i woke up, I was horrified, it didn't seem like a dream, it seemed it had been real. Then i became very sad and thought that now i had to go back to my mother, but my heart told me that we shoul go to Sri Krishna and it could not be that He wanted me to go away, becaue i knew the relation that my dream had with my way of acting with the devotees. On one hand i prayed very much that Srila Prabhupada would forgive me, and i started to treat the devotees with much love and much sweetness like he did.

About six month later I had another dream with Srila Prabhupada, in which he talked to me abot Lord Caitanya and His love for His disciples, and this was for me a forgiving. In anyway, that teaching has accompained me for the rest of my life".
